Are you a marketer looking to expand your knowledge of A/E/C finance? Searching for information to help you better communicate with your firm leadership and take a seat at the table? Looking for ways to understand how to help your firm be profitable?

To many of us in the exciting field of marketing and business development, finance can be considered dry, boring and somewhat complicated. But in order to improve our firms’ profitability and advance our career goals, it’s critical to have an understanding of business and accounting principles.

This session will help attendees to:

    • Calculate common financial ratios and measures
    • Understand basic contract language
    • Help your firm be profitable
    • Plan your marketing budget
    • Understand ROI
    • Distinguish between direct, indirect, overhead, and reimbursable costs
    • Interpret income statements and balance sheets
    • Expertly assess which clients and projects to pursue

Through hands-on exercises and real-life case study examples, this presentation will put the field of finance in terms and context that marketers and business developers can use to further their career. You’ll learn more about the financial side of our industry, positioning your firm—and yourself—for future success.
